QEP: 2                                                                                       Activity Level: M

·         Cat and mouse: one player hides under the parachute while one is on top on their hands and knees searching for the other. The rest of the class makes bubbles to hide the mouse. Make sure all students have an equal amount of turns.

·         Making a tent with the parachute. Making them squat at first, then lift the parachute and placing it under their bums to hold the air inside.  (sing a Christmas (like jingle bells) song inside pretend it’s an igloo)

·         Climb the mountain: Making the students squat, but this time trapping the air under with their knees on top of the parachute. The teacher the yells out colors (make the students crawl to the middle) and students go to the middle.

·         Popcorn: Place a number of balls in the middle of the parachute, make the students stand up and lift the parachute, then yell “down”, this means the all the players have to whip the parachute to the ground. See how high you can make the balls go (use soft balls)

·         Find your color: Squat down then lift the parachute call out a color. Everyone on that color has to switch places with other students on the same color before the parachute falls back onto them. (make sure students look at where they are going to stop collisions)

·         Shark: Everyone places their legs stretched out under the parachute. The teacher nominates sharks to go under the parachute and tickle people’s toes. The game is finished when everyone is under the parachute. Nominate a number of students to cross their legs and help wiggle the parachute; they will then be the ones that are the sharks.  Make sure everyone has the same amount of turns.
