On the Lines Off the Lines

Tactics: Agility and reaction time. Look at the lines to find the best escape route.

Description:

Layer 1:

  • On the word “Go” or when the music begins children start running around without touching the lines on the gym floor. As soon as the teacher yells “On the lines” the student must stay constantly on the lines. (The students are allowed jumping from one line to another.)
Layer 2:

  • Use different movement patterns.
Layer 3:

  • To make the game more challenging add a tag. A Student/s with a pinnie is the pacman (tagger). The tagger is only allowed to touch the other players if they are on the same lines as him or her. Once a student is touched, they will leave the game to put on a pinnie and join the other pacman. The last student to not get touched by a pacman wins.
Modifications:

--In layer three, when the students are tagged, instead of becoming a pacman they can do jumping jacks. The taggers would then have a time limit.

--Can add moveable bases. (Nose and toes etc.)
